Full House is one of those dramas that you hear everyone talk about, if you haven't seen it, you haven't seen anything at all. It was made in 2004 and it stars one of Asia's most famous celebrities, superstar Rain.Full House is funny and cute. The premise behind it is so exciting as well! Everything's based on convenience.
Rain's character (Lee Young Jae) loves his childhood best friend, Kang Hye Won, who in turn loves their other childhood friend Yoo Min Hyu. Hye Won keeps getting rejected, though, and confronts Young Jae (Rain) if it's his fault. Put on the spot, Young Jae confesses his love for Han Ji Eun(the naive writer). This is how they enter their marriage contract.
This drama has it's cliched love triangles of course (personally, I can't live without those!) and Yoo Min Hyu (our second male lead) makes you swoon so much it makes you weak in the knees!
However, there's a few weaknesses.
1) Events repeat themselves too much. The first time, it's hilarious. The second time, it's funny. Third time? It bores you. Fourth time? Arghhh. It's as if the writers had nothing to write about. Thus, it drags. But hey, maybe you don't really enjoy plot twists (where it would have felt very welcome here) so maybe this is a strength? Depends on your tastes.
2) Although you get a sense of where and when the actor falls in love with the naive writer, you can't say the same vice versa. It felt rushed and confusing. I don't think there was a good transition from 'hate/annoyance' to 'love' on her part. And really, because it's a romance, isn't that the best part?
In conclusion, if you have been watching dramas for at least a year, you have probably already watched this little gem. If there was a guideline on which dramas to watch, this would be on page 1 with Winter Sonata and all the other classics. It was enjoyable to watch and when someone needs a drama recommended, this is always near the top of my list.
