Episode 1

The show starts up with a slow and sad instrumental in the background.  People are dressed in traditional Korean clothing  (hanboks, etc) and it leads you to wonder if this is a historical drama. Addressed as ‘Mama’, the old woman (who is apparently a Queen) asks what the diagnosis was. She gets bad news. Her son, the King, is dying (which means she’s a Great Queen?). The Great Queen turns to the Queen (the wife of the dying King) and says preparations have to be made to secure the future of the royal family. The Crowned Prince must be married ASAP.

Turns out that this isn’t a historical drama after all and it’s all present day but with some changes. We have to pretend that like England has, Korea still has a royal family that serve only as figure heads for the country. Currently, there is a Crown Prince that all the girls in Korea have the hots for. And omo, I don’t blame them. He’s so smexy. Heyyyyyyyy ;D. And so, in 2006 (the time this story takes place) Korea has a constitutional monarchy.

FANGIRL SCRAPBOOK! These fans of his are total stalkers. Unsurprisingly, the Prince is  never showing emotion in his face. He’s totally going to be a jerkface. Anywho, all the girls in this school that we are currently watching have dreams to be a real Cinderella. And this school is attended by the Prince himself and as he rolls in with a hundred decoy cars, crowds of fanboys and fangirls swarm around him.

The school is a school for the arts where students study art, dance, film, theater and music. Our narrator /female lead is an art student (the equivalent of the losers at any high school) while the Prince studies film and hangs out with a group of guys who are all sons of business men; Boys Over Flowers, Royal Edition… anyone?. We find out that the Prince has an eye for a ballet student named Min Hyo Rin. And GASP! T-ara's Eunjung! *point*. You know, psycho bitch in Dream High. *shakes head* I liked her in the beginning of that but then she just went to the point of no return in my good graces. [/offtopic]

YAY! Our two leads finally meet and uh oh, Chae Gyung doesn’t leave a good first impression. She clumsily spills a bucket of dirty water onto the Prince’s white sneakers. Le sigh. She quickly tries to clean it up, but the Prince has quite the temper. Chae Gyung doesn’t take it lying down though, and she lashes out and defends herself against his douchebag ways. Oh wait. Nevermind. She imagined it. *sigh* But at least we know she isn’t blinding by his hawt face and can see he’s an asshole! So yay! Love her and her fantasies. <3
Chae Gyung is off walking around the hallways when she hears the words, “shall we get married?” from an otherwise empty classroom. She peeks in like the little eavesdropper she is, and finds out that the Prince is proposing to Min Hyo Rin! He reveals what we know from the beginning. He is being forced to marry young and if he can’t say he’s already chosen a bride, his parents will chose one for him. He totally gets rejected. Hyo Rin wants to focus on her dreams and she doesn’t want the responsibility of becoming Queen. Aw, a have a smudge of respect for her but knowing she’s the second female lead, we haven’t heard the last of her.

ROFL! Oh Chae Gyung and your inner monologues, you’d reject the Prince’s hand in marriage you say? Someone sure hasn’t read the summary to this drama…

*cringe* Her cell phone goes off and alerts everyone of her eavesdropping. The Prince confronts her and she runs for it and gets away.

After school, however, she’s not so lucky. While riding her bike home from school, the Prince spots her, corners her, and tells her to keep her mouth shut about what she saw.

Word seems to have spread to the Prince’s relatives that live in England about his upcoming marriage. CUTE GUY ALERT!!! Ahhhh but they seem to have a sinister plot! Cutie seems a bit reluctant with his puppy dog face.

Back in Korea, the Prince has alerted his parents that they can arrange the marriage. His father lets him know that the girl they have arranged from her was arranged by the Prince’s grandfather who wanted to repay his best friend with a promise to marry their grandchildren.

Turns out that Chae Gyung is the girl and her family has alerted her of what is going on. She’s not happy about it, however. She has plans to reject him as well.

Word has spread through the school that the Prince is going to get married to a girl from their school. Hyo Rin does her own eavesdropping. She confronts the Prince and BWAHAHAHAHA the Prince tells her that the rumors are true, but it’s not her, it’s the girl who eavesdropped on his proposel to Hyo Rin. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. How you feel about that?

Chae Gyung’s family turns out to be hounded by loan sharks and have been trying hard to convince Chae Gyung to accept the marriage so she could have a better life. The episode ends with Chae Gyung going to formally meet the Queen and letting her know her answer.
